I’m Brooklin Yearwood and I am a Level 10 gymnast at Gymnastics Olympica USA in Los Angeles, CA. I am the Team Captain of our competitive girls team. In the gym I consider myself to be a pretty energetic gymnast who shows up ready to work hard every single workout and I carry that attitude right up until the end of line up. Although I maintain a serious focus, I like to make people laugh and keep the environment light and fun.
I really enjoy mentoring the younger gymnasts and I am aware that they will learn the strength and determination they need based on my actions. Supporting my fellow team mates both in and out of the gym is important to me. My team members and coaches have also played a huge role in my accomplishments and I will be forever grateful for that.
Being that I am in highschool now, I am getting really excited about the prospects of Collegiate Gymnastics. My experiences growing up have prepared me for the adventure of leaving home and thriving in a new environment. I have moved countries 3 times and attended at least 5 different schools as my father works in Film Production. I am quite proficient at adapting to new situations and making new friends!
Outside of the gym, I take great pride in my academic workmanship. I manage my time well and am a strong class participator. Although the hours spent doing gymnastics and school work don’t leave me with a lot of free time, I get out to enjoy my community, different events and volunteer opportunities whenever I am able to. One thing I know my friends and family appreciate about me is my little side passion for baking cakes!
